To date, and in my opinion, this is the best photograph of lightning that I have taken. w00t!
Several highly active and mostly dry electrical storms passed close to Townsville on the evening of February 8 (2008). These storms were moving in sporadic directions, however mostly east(ish), and lightning was jumping from one thunderhead to another every 5 to 10 seconds for several hours. This photograph is Townsville and it's northern surroundings, as seen from the top of Castle Hill. This overlooks Rowes Bay and Pallarenda. Note: Full-view size is about 2MB at 2250x1500 pixels and may take some time to load, but the high detail is worth the wait! Full-view is highly recommended for this photograph! |
